Cedric E. Nash

President and Chief Executive Officer

Cedric E. Nash, founder of Oakland Consulting Group, Inc. (OCG), has served as its President and CEO since inception. Established in 1997, under the strategic leadership of Mr. Nash, OCG quickly made its mark as a force to be reckoned with in the field of information technology (IT) consulting. Mr. Nash is the driver behind OCG's strategic planning, business development, and marketing endeavors.

Prior to founding OCG, Mr. Nash spent 8 years in the Army as a Transportation Officer. His over 20 years of information technology and project management experience began at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory where he worked as a Software Engineer.  Later, Mr. Nash joined Deloitte & Touche and Ernst & Young as an SAP consultant for two of the “Big Six” system integration firms and provided consulting services to a number of Fortune 500 corporations.

Mr. Nash has received national and local recognition for both his professional achievements and his community service.  Black Enterprise magazine recognized his rapid rise to success in the IT consulting industry and he was named a finalist for their Emerging Company of the Year award, recognizing individual and professional achievements of African Americans that serve as an inspiration and guidance to others. Mr. Nash and Oakland Consulting have also been profiled in Corporate Corridors magazine for his success in forming strategic alliances.  Locally, Mr. Nash was named as one of East Bay Business Times’ “2002 Forty under 40”, spotlighting local overachievers under the age of 40.  He was a recipient of an Oaklandworks Academy Award for his work with inner-city Fremont High School, to which Mr. Nash and Oakland Consulting have been providing up-to-date technology including hardware, software, a LAN environment and Internet access since 1998.  In 2003 Mr. Nash was awarded the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award for the Oakland Chamber of Commerce for his dedication to serving his community while fully supporting the Chamber of Commerce business community.

Mr. Nash holds a degree in Computer Science Engineering from California Polytechnic State University and an MBA from Pepperdine University in Southern California.

Tom Cornell

Vice-President and Chief Operations Officer  
Thomas Cornell is the Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of Oakland Consulting Group, Inc. (OCG), an information technology (IT) consulting firm based in Lanham, MD.  Mr. Cornell is a dynamic professional with demonstrated success in logistics operations, program management, leading complex organizations, and exceeding client expectations. Mr. Cornell's breadth of knowledge includes more than 20 years of military experience in logistics, ranging from improved tracking of sensitive cargo in the United States Army to managing a large-scale global logistics operations center. While a member of the United States Army, Mr. Cornell was the Deputy Commander, Deployment Support Operations in Kuwait, Chief, Command  Operations Center, Fort Eustis, VA, Chief Logistics Operations Division,, Executive Assistant to the Director of Operations and Logistics, and Program Manager, Joint Logistics-Over-The-Shore at Scott Air Force Base, IL.   Additionally, Mr. Cornell was the Logistics Officer, Modernization Programs in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Deputy Commander, 4/159th Aviation Maintenance Battalion and Plans Officer, G3 Operations Section at Ft. Brag, NC and an Assistant Professor of History at West Point, NY.

Prior to joining OCG, Mr. Cornell gained invaluable commercial experience in IT development and business management consulting at SAIC where he was employed for four years.  While at SAIC, Mr. Cornell led business development efforts and supported business transformation projects in Government, Aerospace & Defense sectors.  He has a proven ability to develop strategic visions, manage multiple projects, and execute operations in extremely demanding environments.  Mr. Cornell is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Mr. Cornell received a Bachelors of Art in Political Science from the University of Rhode Island and a Master of Art in History from Florida State University. He is affiliated with the National Defense Transportation Association and the Association of the United States Army.    

Kathleen Jacobs

Accounting and Human Resources Manager

Kathy Jacobs joined Oakland Consulting Group, Inc. (OCG) in 2007 as its Accounting and Human Resources Manager. Mrs. Jacobs is a vital point of contact for OCG’s day-to-day operations. In her position, Mrs. Jacobs has been instrumental in creating company policies that not only improve company efficiency but also foster a positive company environment - both critical to maintaining employee satisfaction and retention. Mrs. Jacobs is responsible for all HR functions at OCG including the administrative handling of W2’s, 1099’s, Independent Companies and Corporations. Mrs. Jacobs is knowledgeable in the many laws and regulations that affect companies like OCG that provide nationwide staffing. In addition to Mrs. Jacobs’ many HR duties, she also heads the accounting department, managing all AP/AR, invoice processing and payroll related functions. She also serves as the company’s Facility Security Officer (FSO). Prior to joining OCG, Mrs. Jacobs held various Human Resources and Office Management positions over a span of 20 years within the medical healthcare industry. 


Mrs. Jacobs holds a Bachelors of Art in Social Work from St. Mary's College of Maryland.
